1.What are the dates and timings of the Festival?
The Festival starts on 22nd of February and goes onto 24th of February, 2008. The Festival will start at 10:00 a.m. everyday and end by 10:00 p.m.

2.What do bands/artistes have to do to perform at the Festival?
Bands/Artistes can fill in an online application and send it in to applications@eastwindfestival.com. The Eastwind team will select bands that will play on the programmed stages. (APPLICATIONS CLOSED FOR FEBRUARY 2008)

3.If bands/artistes are not selected to play on the programmed stages can they still perform?
Bands/artistes not selected to play on the programmed stage have the option of performing on the Jamming stage at the venue.

4.How will bands/artistes know when they have been selected to play on a programmed stage?
Bands/artistes will be sent acceptance letters as well as registration forms when they are selected to perform at the Festival.

5.How are performance slots for a band decided?
Performance slots will be allotted in an arbitrary manner by the organiser. The headlining acts as in all cases will be the band that the organisers know will pull in everyone; musicians and audience alike. The slots allotted by the organiser will be final and will not be changed under any circumstance

6.Do bands who want to play on the Jamming Stage have to go through any selection process?
No. They just have to come and register at the counter next to the Jamming Stage and will be given a slot to play

7.What kind of music are bands/musicians expected to play?
This Festival is strictly to promote original content. While bands may do brilliant covers of various international artistes, we want everyone at Eastwind to hear and appreciate original music composed by Indian musicians

8.Are there any genre restrictions?

9.Who will take care of the hospitality needs of the bands/artistes?
For bands/artistes performing on the programmed stages, travel, lodging and F&B requirements will be met by the organisers. All hospitality costs for the band/artistes will be covered for the duration of the Festival only.

10.Will organisers pay for core members of a band/an artiste (sound engineers, managers etc.)?
Only costs of the musicians will be covered. The organisers will not cover costs for band managers, sound engineers, roadies etc.

11.Will bands/artistes be paid to perform?
Going by what a Festival truly stands for, organisers will not be paying artistes a performance fee. There might be an honorarium amount that will be paid to bands performing on the programmed stages

12.What makes this Festival different from others that are held in India?
The Eastwind Festival is the first in India which is primarily for Indian musicians, is a non-competitive platform and aims to be largest gathering of musicians India has ever seen to date. The heart of this Festival is going to be the musicians and also, this Festival is going to be driven by them. In making this Festival all about the music and the musicians, this Festival will be a landmark in the history of contemporary Indian music.
